About Us

Our History

The Waynesboro Veterinary Clinic is a family-owned business in Waynesboro, PA since its founding in October 4th, 1979. Dr. McCullough and his wife, Dianne, began the practice as the only two employees.

Over the years, the clinic has grown to a multi-associate practice by comitting to provide high-quality medicine to our patients and top-notch service to our clients. Additionally, the practice has and continues to proudly institute many state-of-the-art procedures, treatments, and diagnostics not typically found at non-specialty practices to ensure the best possible care for our patients.

On January 1st, 2018, Dr. McCullough and his wife sold their practice to Dr. Mikie Dawson and Patrick McCullough, their daughter-in-law and son.

Services

Behavioral Consultations

Behavioral counseling is a service used to identify and resolve our patients' behavior and provide clients with solutions for success and a happy home.

Dentistry

Dentistry encompasses many differnt solutions based on each individual patient. Generally, however, our practice performs anesthetic dental cleanings that include polishing, scaling, and extracting teeth (only if necessary) to get your pet feeling their best!

Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic instrument used to perform procedures such as biopsies, foreign body removals, and pathology diagnosis that often prevents the need for more invasive surgical alternatives.

Echocardiography

Echocardiography is a non-invasive diagnostic test that uses sound waves (ultrasound) to make pictures of the heart and heart function. This is not a typical service offered by general practice veterinary hospitals.

Laboratory Testing

Laboratory testing is performed through in-house equipment and our trusted reference laboratories. Using the latest diagnostic technologies and equipment, we provide our patients with comprehensive testing and quick results to best facilitate speedy treatment plans and recoveries.

Microchipping

Microchipping is a minimally invasive procedure of injecting a microcomputer (roughly the size of a grain of rice) under the skin between the shoulder blades that enables the speedy return of lost pets.

Orthopedic Surgery

With nearly four decades of orthopedic surgical experience, we provide a wide variety of procedures including (but not limited to) fracture repairs, torn ACLs, luxating patellas, and much more.

Sick Patient Exams

Sick patient exams are illness or injury related visits with our veterinarians. Our hospital and doctors treat small animals (canine & felines), reptiles, and exotics/pocket pets (e.g. ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc.)

Soft Tissue Surgery

With nearly four decades of experience, we perform a wide range of routine and advanced surgical procedures that are typically referred to specialty practices.

Therapeutic Laser

A therapeutic laser is a device that is also used in human medicine (especially sports medicine). It is a non-invasive, drug-free, surgery-free device that uses laser light energy to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery for a wide spectrum of acute and chronic conditions.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure that generates imagery from sound waves to diagnose/identify a broad spectrum of medical conditions.

Wellness Exams

Wellness exams generally refer to disease prevention methods such as vaccinations, year-round parasite prevention (such as heartworm), and blood work to ensure your pet is in top-notch health!
